Questions

Integrations — the things people ask.

What if the other system has no API?
There is almost always a path — a database view, a scheduled export, SFTP file drops, or screen-level automation as a last resort. We have integrated systems whose vendors considered them closed. We will tell you honestly when the only supported option is fragile.
How do you stop data getting out of sync?
Clear field ownership, idempotent writes, a durable queue with retries and dead-lettering, and a scheduled reconciliation job that compares both sides and reports differences. The reconciliation report is what turns an integration from a hope into a system.
Can you fix an integration someone else built?
Yes, and it is a common request. We start by instrumenting it so the actual failure rate becomes visible, then decide with you whether to repair or replace.
Will this break when the vendor updates their API?
Version pinning where the vendor supports it, contract tests that fail loudly in CI when a response shape changes, and monitoring on error rates. Vendors do make breaking changes — the goal is that you hear it from us, not from a customer.
How long does a typical integration take?
A well-defined two-system integration is usually four to eight weeks including reconciliation and monitoring. Estates with several systems and unclear data ownership take longer, and the mapping stage is where that time is spent.
