Cookie Policy
Exactly which cookies and similar technologies this site sets, what each one is for, how long it lasts, and how to turn the optional ones off.
The short version: this site sets no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. It uses one essential item to remember your cookie choice, an anti-spam check on the contact form, and — only if you accept — Google Analytics so we can see which pages are useful. You can decline analytics and everything still works.
The short version
When you first arrive you are asked whether to allow optional analytics cookies. If you choose Essential only, no analytics cookies are set. If you choose Accept all, Google Analytics is enabled so we can see which pages people read and which pages fail them.
Either way, we set no advertising cookies, no social media trackers and nothing that follows you to other websites.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file a website stores in your browser so it can recognise your browser on a later visit. Related technologies — local storage, and scripts that read basic browser information — work similarly. This policy covers all of them.
What this site uses
| Name | Set by | Purpose | Lasts | Type |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| e4t_cookie_choice | Eye4Tech | Remembers whether you accepted or declined analytics, so you are not asked again. Stored in your browser's local storage, not sent to us. | Until you clear your browser data | Essential |
| cf_challenge | Cloudflare Turnstile | Distinguishes real visitors from bots when you submit the contact form. Set only on the contact page. | Session | Essential |
| _ga, _ga_* | Google Analytics 4 | Counts visits and tells us which pages are read and which buttons are used. Set only after you accept analytics cookies. | Up to 24 months | Optional |
| eye4tech_admin | Eye4Tech | Signs our own staff into the site's administration panel. A normal visitor never receives it. | 8 hours | Essential |
If you book a call, Calendly's booking page sets its own cookies under its own policy. That only happens if you choose to open it.
Your choice
The banner on your first visit is a real choice, not a formality. Choosing Essential only means no analytics cookies are set and no analytics data is collected about your visit. Nothing on the site is withheld or degraded as a result.
To change your mind later, clear this site's data in your browser and the banner will appear again.
Controlling cookies
- In your browser. Every major browser lets you block or delete cookies for a specific site, usually under Privacy or Site settings.
- Google Analytics opt-out. Google offers a browser add-on that blocks Analytics on every site you visit.
- Do Not Track. If your browser sends a Do Not Track signal, we treat it as a refusal of analytics.
Blocking essential cookies may stop the contact form from submitting, because the anti-spam check will not complete.
What we do not use
- No advertising or retargeting pixels
- No social media trackers or embedded share widgets
- No device fingerprinting or cross-site profiling
- No selling or sharing of any data with data brokers
