Home/Services/Custom Software

Software built around your business, not the other way round.

When a spreadsheet has become a system, or an off-the-shelf tool is forcing your team into the wrong process, a custom application replaces the workaround with something that fits.

Who this is for

Is this you?

  • Companies running a core process on spreadsheets, email and manual re-entry
  • Teams paying for software they only use 20% of, and working around the rest
  • Businesses whose competitive advantage is a process no product supports
  • Operations that have outgrown the tool they started on

Problems it removes

What this fixes.

  • A process that only works because one person knows how to run it
  • Data re-keyed between systems because nothing connects
  • Reporting that means exporting spreadsheets every Monday morning
  • A tool that does 80% of the job and blocks the other 20%
  • Vendor pricing that scales faster than the value you get back

Capabilities

What we build.

Deliverables, not adjectives. Each of these is something you receive and own.

Web applications

Multi-user systems with roles, permissions, audit trails and reporting — the software your operation runs on daily.

Internal tools

Admin panels, dashboards and operational consoles that replace spreadsheets and manual steps.

Customer portals

Self-service for your customers: accounts, orders, documents, status — reducing inbound support volume.

Workflow systems

Approvals, routing, escalation and SLA tracking, modelled on how your business really makes decisions.

How we approach it

The order we do things in.

  1. Map the current processIncluding the undocumented steps and the workarounds. This is where most of the value is found.
  2. Define the smallest useful versionWhat has to exist before it replaces the current way of working — not the full wish list.
  3. Build in visible incrementsYou see and use working software throughout, not at the end.
  4. Migrate and run in parallelThe old process stays available until the new one has proven itself on real work.
  5. Hand over and supportDocumentation, admin training, and a support arrangement so it stays healthy.

Technology

What we work in for this.

Only what we support in production today. If your stack is outside this list we will say so on the first call rather than learn it on your project.

Questions

Custom Software — the things people ask.

How long does a custom application take?
A focused first version is typically 8 to 16 weeks. We deliberately scope the first release to the smallest thing that can replace the current process, then extend it — that gets value into your business months earlier than a single large build.
Is custom software more expensive than a subscription product?
Higher up front, lower over time, and the crossover is usually inside two to three years. It becomes clearly cheaper when per-seat pricing scales with your headcount, or when the product almost fits and the workarounds are costing staff hours every week.
Who owns the code?
You do, in full. The repository sits in your organisation from the first commit, documentation is a deliverable rather than an extra, and credentials are transferred at handover. You are never locked in to us.
Can you work with our existing development team?
Yes, and we often do — as an additional senior team, on a specific subsystem, or reviewing and modernising architecture. We work to your standards, your review process and your branching model.
What happens after launch?
Most clients keep us on a support arrangement covering fixes, dependency and security updates, monitoring and small enhancements. Some take it fully in-house — we document and hand over for that outcome too.

Have a custom software problem you need solved?

Bring us the problem rather than a specification. A senior engineer will look at it and tell you how we would approach it — the likely shape, the risks worth knowing about, and a rough range.

Or email info@eye4tech.com — a senior engineer replies, usually within one business day.
